Early life of MS Dhoni
Dhoni was born in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand ), and he is from Rajput family. His father Pan Singh worked in junior management position in MECON. He has one sister Jayanti gupta and a brother Narendra Singh Dhoni. His childhood idols were cricket team mate Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachan and Singer lata Mangeshkar.
Dhoni focused on cricket after his 10th standard Dhoni was a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) at kharagpur railway station from 2001 to 2005 under south eastern railway. Dhoni studied at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir Ranchi. Where he initially achieved excellence in Badmintion and football and was selected at district and club level in these sports. Dhoni was a goalkeeper for his football team and was sent to play cricket for a local cricket club cricket, he was picked in Mankad trophy under-16 championship and he performed well.
His colleagues remember him as a very honest,bstraightforward employe of the indian railways. Dhoni and a couple of his friends covered themselves in white bedsheets and walked around in the complex late in the night. The night guards were fooled into believing that there were ghost around the complex.
Cricket as a career
Dhoni made his Ranji trophy debut for Bihar in 1999 – 2000 season as an eighteen years old. He made a half century in his debut match. He scored 283 runs in 5 matches in that season. Dhoni’s performance in the 2002 – 03 season included three half – centuries in Ranji trophy. His hard hitting batting style and lower contribution helped him in promotion.
Dhoni was recognized for his efforts in the 2003/04 season, especially in the one day format and was picked for the India A squad for a tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya. Dhoni had the best wicket keeping effort with 7 catches and 4 stumping. He scored 362 runs in 6 innings at an average of 72.40.
Rahul Dravid was the wicket keeper in 2000s to ensure that batting does not lack. But the junior rank with talents like Parthiv Patel and Dinesh Karthik were perfect at that time. But Dhoni got selected against 2004/05 tour against Bangladesh. But he did not have a great start to his ODI career and he got run out without scoring a run. But at Visakhapatnam he scored 148* making a record by any Indian wicket keeper.
Dhoni is an Indian Crickter who captained the Indian team in limited overs format from 2007 to 2016 and in test cricket from 2008 to 2014. He is an attacking right handed middle order batsman and wicket keeper. He is one of the greatest finisher in limited over cricket and according to me he is one of the finest captain I have ever witnessed.
Dhoni married Sakshi Singh Rawat, his classmate in DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir. The wedding took place one day after the couple got engaged.
World cup champions
He has captained India in world cup matches, under his captaincy India won the T20 world cup and 50 overs world cups in 2011 and many champion trophies.
He was the captain of Chennai super king in IPL and won two trophies.
In 2011 world cup final match against Sri Lanka, chasing 275 Dhoni promoted himself up the batting order and scored 91 runs and took India close to victory and finally he did in style by hitting a six to register the victory
