Dustin Moskovitz was born in Gainesville, Florida and grew up in Ocala, Florida. Dustin is eight days younger than Mark Zuckerberg. Moskovitz is Jewish whose father was a psychiatrist and mother a teacher and an artist. He studied at Vanguard High School, graduating from the IB Diploma Program. Moskovitz attended Harvard University as an economics major for two years before he moved with Mark Zuckerberg to Palo Alto. He went to work full-time on Facebook.
Four people, who were roommates — Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, and Dustin Moskovitz — founded the social networking site Facebook in their Harvard University room in February 2004. Originally called thefacebook.com, it was intended as an exclusive online directory of all Harvard’s students to help residential students to identify members of other residences.
In June 2004, Zuckerberg, Hughes and Moskovitz took a year off from Harvard University and moved Facebook’s base of operations to Palo Alto, California, and they hired a team of eight employees. They were later joined by Sean Parker.
Moskovitz was the company’s first chief technology officer and then vice president of engineering. He led the technical staff and oversaw the major architecture of the site, as well as being responsible for the company’s mobile strategy and development.
On October 3, 2008, Dustin announced officially that he was leaving Facebook to form a new company called Asana with Justin Rosenstein, who was an engineering manager at Facebook. Moskovitz was also the biggest investor in the mobile photo-sharing site Path, run by another former member of Facebook, David Morin. Dustin revealed that he rejected a $100 million offer for the company from Google, made in February 2011.

Dustin Muskovitz – Founder of Asana
Asana is a web and mobile application designed to help teams track their work. It was founded in 2008 by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and ex-engineer Justin Rosenstein, who both worked on improving the productivity of employees at Facebook.
They launched a new Internet company called Asana with Justin Rosenstein. Sean Parker put in $1.2 million into this new venture. Later in 2009, an investment deal of about $9 million was closed by them for the company. The company however has not achieved the same levels of fame and fortune as Facebook.
After launching his new company Asana, Moskovitz provided $10,000 to all his engineers. It was to be spent on upgrading and improving the equipment and machines at their desks. He also gave away a part of the riches that he made through Facebook to varied charities.
Dustin is also reported to have signed ‘The Giving Pledge’ movement started by Warren Buffet, where he pledged to donate a majority of his wealth to charity.
